Fast Start doesn’t try to change your website surfing behaviour, instead it tries to make your existing behaviour easier within your browser. The truth is that most of us visit the websites that we’ve visited before most often. 

On installing Fast Start to your browser, you’re presented with an assortment of Windows metro styled boxes. These boxes identify and order the websites that you visit most often and provides a colour coded arrangement. Each box – or metro tile – is really a button that provides you with easy access to your favourite websites.

What Can You Do With Fast Start?

The major benefit of Fast Start is the ability to more easily revisit websites that you’ve visited recently. However, Fast Start provides a really easily and intuitive interface. 

Fast Start is rather customisable, it provides you with the ability to drag and drop tiles into position, resize them and to also change the colour of the tile in question. 

Fast Start is a very flexible quick start extension, indeed, it’s probably one of the most advanced that I’ve seen – and it’s free of ads or paid for upgrade.

Features of Fast Start

Drag and drop - Drag and drop tiles into position, if you don’t have your favourite website in the ideal position on your new tab interface, drag it into a more desirable position. 

Change colour – Each tile can be customized to your favourite assortment of colours

Change background – It’s not just the background that is customizable, the background is too

Bookmarks – Your bookmarks are also easily accessible as tiles, this is probably one of the most understated but useful feature of Fast Start. Your bookmarks behave like a hybrid between Windows Explorer folders and Metro tiles – it works. You’ll find it much easier to navigate your bookmarks than you would with Google Chrome’s native bookmark experience. 

Size – Each metro tile can be customized to one of three sizes – small, medium or large – in short, the websites that you visit most often you can make the tile (button) much easier to hit. Conversely, those that you visit least often – you can make the tile much smaller. 

Icons – The icons from the websites that you visit most often are also 

New Tile – Fast Start clearly have tried to make this extension as flexible as possible, you’re able to add new tiles rather than have them just dynamically created.
